I sure can:)
1. Make a flickr
2. Take photos at local gigs (buy a ticket, take your camera, take photos)
3. Put all your best work on Flickr
4. Look up publications, on Google, that accept contributing photographers. (LiveGuide, FasterLouder, Tone Deaf, In The Mix are some publications)
5. Apply to be a contributing photog. They will ask you questions and link to your past work hence why you need a flickr or something.
6. Wait. (This waiting period could take a week or a couple months)
7. Don’t give up.

OMFG YOU’RE SHOOTING ED SHEERAN TONIGHT!
Was the message I’d received from my Editor during my last period at school. You could just imagine all the emotions I had going on inside. I left school early last Friday, almost running home. I’m certain I pulled a muscle, oh well. I shot Ed Sheeran, need I say more?!
So later that day I went to Michael’s to hire a 70-200; I knew prior to shooting at The Palais Theatre that they didn’t have a designated photo-pit, hence the need of a longer lens. After hiring the baby my mother took me out for dinner. I ordered some nice ass noodles might I add…
At 8:25 I met a lady who gave me my photopass. Prior to this I’d signed a photo release and I had been informed that I could only shoot first three songs, no flash (the usual) and then I was told I’d be shooting from FOH (front of house). Now i’ve never shot FOH before so it was quite frustrating, not being able to get up close to the Artists’ face and all. You can see the type of photos I got with the 70-200 from foh here, I found that my focal range with my crop sensor still wasn’t long enough to get my desired image, crazy how far from the stage we were!
I know that this would make you life.
My editor had said and honestly that night my life was made. I photographed Ed Sheeran and I’m still all giddy about it. He played so beautifully, I am completely ecstatic that I got tickets to see him next year!
Basically we stayed shooting for four or so songs and then got escorted out the venue. I wish Ed didn’t play at The Palais, otherwise most venues, the photogs are usually able to stay for the rest of the show.

Hey!
First of all, are you an FL contributor? I think they’ve changed it now that if you aren’t contributing you can’t upload albums. In that case you can just make up a flickr in order to shhow your work to FL.

I shot ADTR with a 50 1.8. I currently have been favoring my 17-40 f4 because of its wide range. But I really want to shoot again with my 50! I’ve forgotten how beautiful that lens is. And last night I shot Ed Sheeran with a 70-200 2.8 IS II. Goddamn that was beautiful! However it wasnt long enough for where we had to shoot at The Palais Theatre. We shot at “FOH” but it was more like the middle of the venue between the stage and foh.
